Center for the Study of Democracy
The Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) at the University of California, Irvine sponsors research and education aimed at improving the democratic process in the United States and expanding democracy around the world.
The center frequently sponsors community lectures featuring prominent public figures, high ranking international government officials and democracy supporters, the likes of which have included Jimmy Carter, former President of the United States; Janet Yellen, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco; Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights; and California Governor Jerry Brown.
